INSERT / OUTSERT COMPONENT INSTALLATION
INSERT / OUTSERT COMPONENT INSTALLATION
* Some arrow builds require more than one component to be installed into a shaft. For example, some large diameter target shafts require both a point to be glued into the front and a pin nock adapter to be glued into the rear: OR the 2-piece I.R.I.S. Component System available from Factor Archery Products. Because of the increased labour time to install double the amount of components into the arrow shaft, please select the appropriate quantity of components getting installed into each arrow shaft. If you are unsure of how many component are to be glued into the arrow shaft you have selected, feel free to visit the Contact Us page, or click on the CHAT ICON in the bottom right hand corner of your screen, and one of our friendly and knowledgeable staff will help guide you in the right direction *
Let us install your insert/outsert components using adhesives and a process that result in the best possible bond every time.
- Arrow and bolt squaring is a crucial part of building an arrow/bolt. Please purchase the arrow/bolt squaring service if PCA will be installing your insert/outserts components. At PCA, we hold ourselves to the highest standards for quality; therefore, we will never install insert/outsert components without squaring an arrow/bolt prior.
- All inserts/outserts and the corresponding internals/exteriors of the arrow/bolt shafts will be prepped with an abrasive or an abrasive scoring device, then cleaned, before installation with your preferred chosen adhesive for maximum adhesion. This labour time is factored into the cost of the insert/outsert component installation.
- Component weight sorting is included in the cost for Insert/Outsert Component Installation. This service consists of weighing all of your components and cut arrow and bolt shafts individually. The lightest components will then be matched up with the heaviest arrow/bolt shafts, and vice versa; the heaviest components will then be matched up with the lightest arrow/bolt shafts. This process makes end total arrow/bolt weight from arrow to arrow and bolt to bolt as consistent as possible providing you the most uniform batch of arrows/bolts we can offer. We put in the same attention to detail into your arrows and crossbow bolts as we do our own; and this is just another way we separate ourselves from our competition.
- We provide you with the choice of either epoxy or hot melt adhesives. Epoxy is the most permanent and strongest option to insure your components will never come out of your arrow shaft. Hot melt is reversible, and therefor not as durable of an option as epoxy. If you ever plan on changing, removing, or reusing components in the future, we suggest hot melt adhesive. At PCA, we pride ourselves in providing the most durable hot melt installation available; BUT, insert/outsert components coming loose over time is always a possibility with this option.
*Each unit represents 1 arrow/bolt shaft. Ex. if you would like 6 arrow/bolt shaft to receive this service, please select "6" in the quantity section.*
**If you would like some of your inserts/outserts epoxied into shafts, and some of your inserts/outserts hot melted into shafts; follow these instructions.
1. Select Adhesive Type.
2. Select Component Quantity.
3. In the Quantity selection, select the number of shafts you would like that adhesive type used on.
4. In the Installation Details field above, please specify:
- The shaft type/spec you want this installed on (if ordering more than one)
- The style of insert/outsert you want installed using this method (if ordering more than one).**
